Help for Flooding Victims in the Kansas City Area
Climate Control Heating & Cooling wants to help our neighbors in the KC area

Flooding and water damage can come unexpectedly.
If you are in the St Joseph area and you experienced recent flooding, you probably want to just get back to normal life as soon as possible. A lot of things are probably running through your mind like how you are going to clean up and how to repair water damage to your home. You may not realize this, but if your HVAC unit was submerged during the flood, you may have a whole list of other issues.
Sure, the outside of your air conditioner or furnace may look just the same as it did before the flood! It is highly likely that water-damaged HVAC equipment may not work or may not work for long after being flooded. Furnaces, heaters and boilers have gas valves and controls that are especially vulnerable to water damage. Even electric furnaces have coils that are susceptible to corrosion if flooded.
What should you do?
Do I Need to Replace My Furnace?
It always stinks to have to replace a climate control system. They’re not cheap, and the replacement process usually means that you have to go without heating or air conditioning for at least a few hours. It’s even worse if the old system has broken down entirely, since it means you’re out of luck until you manage to find a new system and schedule an appointment. That could take days, which is a long time to go without something like a furnace in the middle of winter. It’s better to be able to identify that your furnace is getting close to the end of its life. So that you can have it replaced with as short a lapse in heating service as possible. Have a look below if you’re not sure whether or not your furnace is in need of replacement.
